Stories of a territory

Exhibition of photographs that tell the story of the local area through historical moments, organized by the Consorzio Culturale del Monfalconese - Ecomuseo Territori:

• "La tratta dei cefali di Monfalcone"
  An archive of the memories of the old fishermen who tell of the abundant peaches that took place in the waters of the Monfalconese coast, and that allows to outline the evolution of the geography of the territory.
   
• "Lì di Fusàr. To the coachman. The Tirimesù of Mario Cosolo"
  Starting from the lively meeting place of the territory, the hotel restaurant "Al Vetturino" in Pieris, opened in 1850, remembers the history of the Cosolo Fusàr family, the village, its inhabitants and the passion for cooking, which translates with the creation of "Il Tirimesù" by Mario Cosolo, the "Vetturino Cup".
   
• "Virgilio Mosettig 'Santonego'" through the lens of Benito Libassi
  It remembers a story about a well-known character among the people of Grado in the 1960s, Virgilio 'Santonego' Mossettig; he collected and sold the “santonego” or “santonico” door to door, in bunches of dried plants; hence the name Virgilio Santonego is attributed to him.
  Santonego is a plant typical of the brackish areas originally from Grado, whose uses have changed over the years, from a cure-all and vermifuge herb, to a raw material for making delicious food and  products.
