Fritole de carneval

Ingredients

500 g 00 flour,

370 ml milk,

2 eggs,

25 g brewer's yeast,

130 g sugar,

½ small glass of "Grappa friulana",

zest of 1 lemon,

60 g raisins,

40 g pine nuts,

peanut oil for frying (*see alternative),

icing sugar.

Introduction

Fritole de carneval" are a classic sweet, that together with "crostoli", are prepared during the carnival period. There are many recipes of Frittole, those with raisins, those with pine nuts, those with ricotta cheese, with cream, according to the taste and pleasure of those who prepare them. "Quando riva le Fritole, xe carneval" (When Frittole arrive on the tables it is Carnival).
