Vin brulè (Mulled wine) - friulano

Ingredients
1 l. red wine (Merlot, Cabernet Frank, Cabernet Sauvignon, Refosco dal peduncolo rosso),
100 g. sugar,
1 lemon peel,
1 orange peel,
2 cinnamon sticks
8 cloves,
5 juniper berries,
1 star anise,
Nutmeg to taste.
Introduction
The "Vin brulè (Mulled wine) " is a hot drink made of red wine, sugar, aromatic spices and citrus fruits. It is used to make it in the cold days of winter, in order to get warm. Today mulled wine is mainly prepared in country fairs, during Christmas holidays. Its intense aroma is also good for perfuming in a natural way the rooms of the house.
