Elixir and superfood berry of Aronia melanocapra - THE ARONIA
Today we discover the Aronia (scientific name Aronia melanocarpa), also known as the black Aronia, which is a plant native to North America, spread mainly in Eastern Europe.
It produces small black fruits, very similar to our blueberries, but with an astringent flavour.
Black Aronia berries are rich in:
-
antioxidant substances and polyphenols, which prevent premature cellular ageing
-
assimilable iron
-
quinic acid, which helps prevent infections and purifies the urinary tract, as well as carotene, a substance that reduces oxidative stress in the eyes
-
fibre, which improves the digestive process by aiding intestinal motility
The Società Agricola 4 Principia Rerum of Gorizia, the first producer in Italy of the aronia berry, in addition to marketing cold-pressed pure juice, powder, dried berries, infusions and natural soaps with aronia extract, has created the Elisir l'Aroniano, the fruit of the intuition of young partners David and Luka, agricultural and oenology scholars.
But what is the Elisir Aroniano?
It is a liqueur-like, aged, seductive aromatised wine that awakens the senses with its suggestion of blackberry and wild berries, ruby-coloured, enriched with pure aronia melanocarpa juice, the superfood berry with multiple beneficial properties, a balance of contrasts for those who prefer to share a refined product. Simply this, a new, unique, inimitable, sweetly intoxicating product, to be enjoyed in company or alone, as an aperitif or ideal as a digestive.
Serving recommendations:
6 degrees with an ice cube, it also pairs perfectly with mature and spicy cheeses, as well as delicious desserts, fruit and pastry specialities.
