Chestnuts pie
Region: Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Ingredients
600 g of chestnuts,
200 g of sugar,
100 g of butter,
100 g chopped almonds,
3 eggs,
the grated rind of 1 lemon,
salt,
powdered sugar.
Introduction
The chestnuts, rich in starch, are well suited to many confectionery processes where they are used both whole, obviously boiled, both in flour. They can still be, despite the passing of the years, a source of joy for children of all ages, who with the first cold buy roast chestnuts on the street in the typical straw paper cones.
