“Dal Santisim” bean

Description

The popular denomination most probably derives from the shape of the stain that surrounds the hilum; depending on whether it reminds the monstrance or the shape of a bird of prey, the variety is called respectively “Fasui dal Santisim” (hamlet of Piano d'Arta Terme) or “Da l'Aquile” (hamlet of Imponzo di Tolmezzo). During the collection of the germplasm, a temporary denomination was also used for the same bean: “Tricolore di Cavazzo”.
